SWEDSPAN Polska Sp. Z o.o., a member of the SWEDSPAN Group, was founded in June 2009. The company is building a new state-of-the-art production plant for Ultra Thin High Density Fibre Board (UT-HDF), which is used for example in lightweight board applications and other furniture components.
SWEDSPAN's UT-HDF is produced from fresh wood fibres in a continuous, eco-friendly production process. The board is homogeneous, has a dense, smooth and hard surface, and offers high dimensional stability, flatness and excellent properties for further processing.
The surface properties have been specially designed for direct printing or lacquering in order to reduce the amount of chemical components needed to coat the surface. Formaldehyde emissions are the same as those of clean, fresh wood and represent the highest standard in today's wood based panel industry.
These boards will be used to manufacture modern furniture for IKEA. SWEDSPAN Polska expects the new plant to commence production of HDF panels in 2011.
